Q: What ingredients do I need to make this mix?
A: All you need is eggs (or your favorite egg alternative!), water, and oil and you’re ready to go!
Q: Is this mix vegan-friendly?
A: Yes! We recommend swapping each egg in the regular recipe with your favorite “egg” alternative, like a flax egg (tip: use 1 Tbsp. flaxseed meal and 4 Tbsp. of water).
Q: What oil should I use?
A: Any melted oil or fat of your choice will work! We like to use melted coconut oil, olive oil, avocado oil, or melted butter. Please note, olive oil and coconut oil do not have neutral flavors, so if you don’t want their flavors to come through, it’s best to use avocado oil.
Q: Is this baking mix gluten-free?
A: No, this mix is made with whole grain spelt flour and whole wheat flour, which both contain gluten. Since we ferment every batch with sourdough starter, a process that naturally degrades the gluten content, we like to consider our products “gluten friendly.” That being said, they do contain gluten and are not suitable for anyone with celiac disease or other forms of gluten intolerance.
